Q: How much is it going to cost?
A: Gary Spencer is a fee for service adviser. The initial meeting is at no cost. Subsequent fees will be agreed at the initial meeting. Generally, fees are based on an hourly rate or a fixed fee arrangement. This gives the client certainty about the fees that they will pay. Gary’s hourly charge out rate is $350 plus GST.
Q: What options do you have if you can’t afford the fees?
A: Fees can be structured in a way that minimises the impact on your cash flow. In some cases, fees can be tax deductible or funded by your superannuation fund. We will discuss all the options with you and provide a personalised outcome that meets your requirements.
Q: Do you have to support a particular product or platform?
A: Personally, I do not have a preference for any particular product provider. Advice, including recommendations around investments and insurance, is personalised and tailored to meet your requirements. Under the new FOFA reforms, all advice provided by financial planners is required to be in a client’s best interest. This means any recommended product needs to needs to put the client in a better position than they were previously. More information about Gary’s institutional relationships can be found in the Financial Services Guide of FYG Planners Pty Ltd.
Q: Can we work with your existing team of advisers and professionals?
A: Yes, one of the benefits of working with a Special Needs Financial Adviser is that a personalised approach will be adopted.
This means going beyond the role of the average financial planner to work with your team of professionals and, therefore, to assist you to achieve the outcome that you desire. If it is your wish, Gary can take a “personal CFO” or coordinating role to ensure that your plan is implemented.
